[Tags|, , ]

This past weekend was the New York Comic Con
and Nick Magazine was there with 2 awesome panels and fun-filled gag workshop!
There was also a ton of other Nickelodeon panels and events throughout the weekend as well.

Dave and Alison with Kevin Coppa's amazing Avatar puppets!
Kevin created these Avatar puppets specifically for the Friday panel called Nick Mag Presents…Avatar comics and fandom spotlight.
They were obviously a huge hit!

Nickelodeon storyboard artist, Johane Matte takes on all challenges for sketches and signatures!

Avatar fans wait for the Friday Nick Mag panel to start.

Dave shows some panels from the comic book section of Nick Magazine.

Volunteers from the audience came on stage to participate in a live comics reading.
They provided voices for the characters of Sokka
and the angry drill sergeant from the Avatar comics packed in with the DVDs.

10 cosplayers were chosen from the audience so the audience could root for their favorite costumes.

Cosplayers compete for Nick Mag prize packs.

Once the panel is over the crowd rush to the stage to ask questions of the panelists.

Immediately after the panel, fans of Johane asked for sketches and autographs.

I didn't take this photo...but here is the 2nd place winner of the Cosplay award swinging by the Nickelodeon booth.
Seen behind him are some of the amazing hardworking Nick folks who organized,
constructed and staffed the booth all weekend!

A family of Avatar fans wait for the Saturday panel with the show’s creators to begin.

Fans sign a giant “thank you” card to Mike & Bryan, the creators of Avatar.

The Saturday Avatar panel was so PACKED that tons of people had to stand in the back and along the sides of the room.
We had so much fun we forgot to take any pictures!
But rest assured everything they showed is already all over the internet.

Sunday was the 2nd annual Nick Mag 3-D Comics Carousel,
which included live comics reading by cartoonists like Kim Deitch, Micheal Kupperman,
Sam Henderson and R. Sikoryak.

Gordon Whiteside as our 3-D safety officer.

We had to test out the 3-D technology to make sure it was running at maximum capacity.

Nick Mag editor, Chris Duffy shows off a 3-D gag by Jen Sorensen.

R. Sikoryak performs his 3-D comic about Pirates!
