A behind-the-scenes look at the various stages of making the Avatar comics that appear in Nickelodeon Magazine and the Season 2 DVDs of Avatar: The Last Airbender. From story pitches to script revisions, and creating final art for print, this is a chance to find out what goes into making a great comic, and what editors actually do all day! OR: We can just geek out about how much we love Avatar in general!

ALSO...
I'm hopefully there will be lot's of Avatar cosplay because I'll be trying to take pictures of the best costumes at the show.
I'll post a few on this site and ideally a few of them will make it into our next all-Avatar magazine (which will be released right before the debut of Season 3). We'll be doing a longer version of the article that appeared in the first issue:

I mailed in some photos of my Ty Lee, Song, and my friend's Toph cosplays a long time ago. Perhaps I'll send them again via e-mail so they're easier to print. Hope they make it in!

I'm not going to Anime Boston, but I AM going to Savannah College of Art and Design's Sequential Editor Deadline event/thingamabobber (I JUST saw a flyer this morning) on May 3rd. I believe it mentioned something about Nickmag being there? *¬*;;;

Hmm, yeah I don't know if I ever got those photos...but maybe I saw them online? If you have hi-res versions definitely send them via email.

Oh yeah and it looks like Chris Duffy is going to the SCAD event!
He was supposed to go last year but got sick I think.

Do you know if anybody is going to be at Comic-con takeing pictures of the cosplayers there? Since there is going to be a very huge Avatar cosplay group?

I'll be at Comic Con taking pictures but sadly by that point the all avatar magazine will be wrapped up.
But of course if it sells really well more chances we'll get to do a 3rd!

If you need info on where all the cosplayers will meet, there's a website I host with all the information on the Avatar meet up at Comic-con. The exact place is not confermed, but will be posted soon.

Originally we were going to try and do some cool stuff at Comic Con and then cover it in the mag--but the dates got pushed back so now we have to finish everythig before we leave for the convention. But I'm sure it will still be amazing none the less.
